Salvia nemorosa 'May Night' - Meadow Sage Family: Lamiaceae Origin: The species is native to Europe and Russia. A summer-long, violet-blue haze is provided by the many flower-spikes that rise from densely-clumped stems of rough-textured, narrow-ovate foliage. PPA Perennial Plant of the year 1997. Prefers full sun and moist, well-drained soil. Tolerant to drought conditions. Nice plant for the perennial border, particularly the all-blue garden. Useful for both fresh, and dried flowers. Hardy Zones 4-9. Mature height: 36".
